Orange - Cert. Organic
Orange oil is produced by glands inside the rind of an orange fruit. It is extracted from the orange peel by cold-pressing. It has a fresh and tangy aroma, composed of mostly (greater than 90%) d-limonene and is therefore often used in place of pure d-limonene, which can be further extracted from the oil by distillation.
Orange—specifically, sweet orange—refers to the citrus tree Citrus sinensis. Sweet orange oil is yellow to orange in color and watery in viscosity. The shelf life is approximately 6 months.
Oranges are believed to be the Golden Apples of mythological fame and are regarded as a symbol of fertility due to the fact that they can produce flowers and fruit at the same time.
The therapeutic properties of orange oil are antiseptic, anti-depressant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, diuretic, sedative and tonic.
Its properties for skin include: antibacterial, strong antifungal, anti-inflammatory, slightly astringent, cleansing, degreasing, lymphatic and circulatory stimulant, skin conditioning and nutritive (containing vitamins A, B, & C).
